“Chapter 1: Understanding LEGO Geometry”
The advantages of using TECHNIC construction is it allows or offers options for connectivity and even allows for building at odd angles that is difficult to complete with a traditional beams. Technic beams or bricks has holes that allow axles to pass through and allow the beams to be connected to each other making the impossible, possible. 8448 Super Street Sensation which was built fully from studless parts. This creation was unique because instead of using beams for building plates to provide the shell it was built using studless beams. Margins of errors can be tested. Stacking technique which makes your robot heavier but strong. To add, technic beams allow us to build not just 90 degrees but diagonaly. Using traditional beams limits us to do the impossible using technic beams strives us to do the impossible.

i liked the part about the technic bricks doing the impossible. i thought that was interesting because just a few years ago, like you said, it was impossible. i believe at the end, you meanet to say using traditional beams limits to do the possible while using technic beams strives us to do the impossible. Another thing i found interesting from the chapter was the 6:5 ratio. This ratio states that for every 6 bricks, there are 5 holes for putting in axles. keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteGREAT post. I can exactly know the differences between original and TECHNIC LEGOs. Yes, it allows us to build very unique and more techinical LEGOs, which is almost impossible for original LEGO to build.
ReplyDeleteYou said that this TECHNIC bricks let your robot to be heavier, but strong. Well, these bricks also let your robot to be lighter, but strong. This can be different by ways you build the robots. And I hope you keep your great job, and encourage you to build more advanced robots.
I too liked the part about how the new technic bricks allow us to do the impossible. i also like how you mentioned a robot as an example that represents the greatness of new technic bricks. they do allow endless options/possibilities.. great stuff, great stuff.
